Thank you for this response. You're absolutely right that marriages should be like the right to drive. Many people are not qualified and those who are perhaps will take the responsibility more seriously if there is clear accountability measures.

Marriage is hard and so are many good things but I think we tend to confuse hard and unhappy. I also am someone who would continually rather restart than continue on a bad trajectory but so many people stay in subpar marriages for the sake of 'society.' Mind boggling.
