Escaping the Trap of Societal Expectations

When was the last time you knew something was right just because of how it felt?

Like, no matter what anyone said to you, they could not challenge your core belief on this feeling?

Are you struggling to find a memory?

Or are there many?

This question makes me recall a really great concert I attended, or a shared experience of simplicity with a loved one we only know about, or how I feel when the kids go to bed, and I can eat dessert in peace.

That’s the feeling I am talking about. The confidence this feeling has is the same confidence Kate Moss came at us with when she said, ‘Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.’ The reason this comment rung round the world was because it resonated with every single solitary girl who ever prayed, yes, I said, prayed for a thigh gap. We all knew exactly the feeling she was talking about because we would have sold a sibling to buy it off the street.

I am talking about when you are willing to sacrifice too much for something you have not intentionally desired, but now its too late to question the final goal, so success is the only objective, at any cost.
