It's Not Wild Women to be Feared But Wise Women
I have reliably been told that I am unreliable.
I have been ritually told that I am rebellious.
I have been moralistically told that I am (making) a mistake.
I think all of these critics need to take a hard look in the mirror.
What I’ve been told — and pressured to buy into by people I never asked for advice — speaks volumes about their shortcomings and absolutely nothing about me, my journey, or my intentions.
You cannot dismiss all feedback.
We are not Michael Jordan, and each of us has room for improvement.
But there’s a profound difference between unsolicited advice and honest input from humble humans genuinely trying to help.
You can feel that difference, can’t you?
The emotional contrast between a conversation that lifts you up versus one that cuts you down to smithereens.
There are those who ignite your fire to keep going, and then there are those who keep asking why you won’t just lay down and die already.
Isn’t it strange?
Telling someone to stop.
Telling another to abandon their dreams because you think they’re silly.
