I think we need to be talking about internet porn way more than we are right now. I believe we have ignored or considered this situation harmless for….decades now….fucking decades.
I have been in adult relationships for twenty years now.
I am currently single (and fabulous). I was speaking to a friend the other day; he is 40, straight, married and male. I asked him how big of a deal easy access to porn is for the reality of toxic relationships, and he said it was the most significant contributing factor.
I once watched an unemployed forty-year-old married father scroll athletes and swimsuit models on Instagram for a full hour on a Saturday afternoon while his wife was outside playing with their child. He also did not stop after that hour commenced; that is simply when I stopped tracking the situation because I felt sick of observing for any moment longer.
When you settle, you are not really aware of what you are settling for.
If you can justify scrolling internet porn for an hour every night, and let’s be honest…is it ever just an hour…could you imagine if you died and found out, you coulda have been the next Kobe if you had used those hours differently, mother fucker?
