I Think I Kinda Get It….Turning 40

I think I kind of get some (very few, maybe a handful) of the big emotional decisions that others have made that impacted my life in a profound way from many different perspectives now.

I can see most situations from multiple perspectives now.

I know many people younger than me who cannot, and I know many people older than me (much older than me) who cannot. When I am angry, I tend to whittle down to my singular, safest, and most precedentially successful perspective, so I aim to not make choices when angry and strive not to be in states of anger often. This is an important piece of life advice: Do not make emotional decisions in states of high emotion.

I am not tired. Life has not worn me down or broken me in, in some horrible, disgusting, tragic way.

We like to catastrophize what is pretty much a decent package with great potential. We are all great packages with potential, and what and how that is utilized shapes the stories we tell, remember, concretize, glorify and validate. We are the stories we accept of ourselves. Before you try and cancel culture me, there is also a lot of harm. There is a lot of pain. There is a lot of injustice, but there is also a lot of choice in life.
