I love how you wrote that you had a ‘practice marriage,’ because that puts a positive spin on the experience. Marriage is complicated and controlling, you are absolutely right. Marriage, especially in Asian cultures, I feel, can be used as a way to control, contain and stifle women. It is an exhausting ordeal and I feel that we need to speak up about the struggles with marriage, so that young women know that after your big, special day you have to live with that person, day in and day out, so choose the right one.
