I find it fascinating when people do not apply for great opportunities, unless they meet every qualification being highlighted. People need to understand that the job qualifications are an employers wish list and they themselves do not anticipate finding someone who fits what they are looking for exactly.
It can also be a great strength if you do not meet all the requirements perfectly. You can sell your unique perspective and how it can bring a fresh perspective to the organization.
When you apply for jobs, one needs to be creative. Quit seeing your qualities as static and see how you can show your academics and experience uniquely fit into the job requirements.
