I find it amazing how the consistent piece of advice successful writers are giving aspiring writers is to write consistently, but clearly this advice is being sent and not received properly.
I think you hit the nail on the head, with respect to overnight success. It can feel like you are writing into a void and every other article is being seen, read and responded to, expect for yours.
I think, when people become frustrated with their progress, or lack thereof, is to be honest with themselves as to why they started writing in the first place.
If your primary goal was to become a famous writer, well, good luck, but let’s be serious. It takes stamina to become the best at something and the very, very, very few who become overnight successes are the exception and not the rule and that’s how they should be seen.
