I Don’t Give a Damn About My Bad Reputation

Reputation Management is a Waste of Time

One’s reputation is precarious; you cannot hold or see it, but it apparently it can be destroyed and destroy everything you care about in an instant…apparently, or so I have heard.

Having a squeaky-clean reputation is paramount for success.

Respectfully, I disagree; I see the real power lies in character, you see.

Do not do that; it will tarnish your family’s reputation.

Do not do that; it will ruin your professional reputation.

Do not do that; it’ll sully your innocent reputation.

Trying to keep one’s reputation in the good books can be a full-time job.

It’s wild how hard some will work to try and control their image. They worry about it and question choices based on how they will impact their reputation; this thing we do not fully understand but must keep safe. When you take a step back, this means that people question their intuition against the opinions of those who think worst of them before taking action.

If we are struggling personally, why is our first concern about what others think of our experience? Have we even allowed ourselves the space to understand what we are trying to hold onto or protect?

If your goodness is only good compared to someone’s badness, sadness or loss….I find you…
