Hi Patty, I am sorry to hear about your dad. You do a lot for your family and I having a family member with a disability can be really challenging.

I think you are absolutely right, that having a reciprocal relationship, is very beneficial. I think that I have that with my parents as well. If they need something, they are happy to let me know, but they rarely do.

I think I wonder more about the areas where I feel it did not serve me well or perhaps I was not mentally mature enough to appreciate it. It is a topic I mull over a lot and think about often, so I will hope to write more about it in the future.
