Forgive and Flourish
Building My Ecosystem: How to Leave Mediocrity in the Mud
I grew up in an ecosystem of tough love — the school of hard knocks —and I am thankful for it.
I grew up in a competitive ecosystem (why aren’t you more like so and so? They are a good kid), and I am truly grateful for it.
I recall the first time I was exposed to an easier-going ecosystem.
An ecosystem void of judgment, conditions, trite traditions and perpetual hierarchical competition. It felt like heaven to me, and I knew then and there the type of home I wanted to create for my children.
I want to raise my child so that they know nothing they do or say can change my role, love, and respect for them.
This commitment was not a short order. It was a really tall order (almost a venti). One I wake up every day vowing to meet and continue to commit to, but, man oh man, it sure challenges your unhealthy normative assumptions, actions and analogies.
