As a 9–5er, I really appreciated this post. It can be difficult to be outwardly happy for working for a large organization, but many people actually are. You are also more than right, I love my benefits and it would be hard to let them go.

I appreciate dreaming and reading about people who up and walk out of a stable job, they have built and worked up to for many years, but I am just not that person.

I always ask myself, Who paid their mortgage?’ or ‘What was the negatives of this situation?’ Sometimes it all feels a bit too rosy and shiny for me to buy into.

Freelancing or working a structured job are both jobs and both have their pros and cons. I know many people who work a 9–5 and have off days, where they do not get much done, but they still get paid the same. I do not know many freelancers who could say they had an off-day and made a bunch of dollar.

Appreciating and respecting everyone’s journey is so important and I appreciated your vantage point on this topic.
