Adaptability Trumps Precedence

Your Ability to Manage the Unexpected Matters Most

Creating, sustaining and elevating connections is key to success in most areas of life.

Many people are not very good at relationship building, management, prioritization or excellence.

Learning to adjust to the situation is a terrific skill set, but it can be challenging to walk the fine line between being easy-going, accommodating, and collaborative without being taken advantage of or accessing gains via indirect privilege.

Authenticity, not reputation, is what defines character.

I know some high-maintenance characters who think being annoying equates to importance.

I once watched someone demand that a specific, high-brand jam be retrieved before the grocery stores closed for the night because they required it on their toast every morning, no matter what. Everything stopped until this matter had been resolved, and the amount of time, money and energy felt…inappropriate. I think this person’s expectations probably cause them a lot of grief on the daily.

Some people think demanding fancy delicacies makes one privileged, but too much reliance on anyone or anything weakens one. Learn to appreciate plain toast from time to time.
